Building a place from a few pages of architectural drawings and remaining true to aspirations of being as ecological as possible was no easy task. The ‘eco-process’, from right in a clockwise direction.

i. Clearing unwanted palm trees & keeping surrounding greenery.
|
|
|
|
ii. Salvaging wood from demolition of old school.
|
|
|
|
iii. Salvaging boards and more wood from an old cocoa barn..
|
|
|
|
iv. Using bamboo from nearby and getting a local to weave walls.
|
|
|
|
v. Using dead Belian tree for timber.
|
|
|
|
vi. Discovering old selangan batu and getting villagers to chainsaw it.
|
|
|
|
These are just some of the examples of the details that have come to shape PAGANAKAN DII and its aim to be a Natural Retreat.
